Is eToro fast enough for day trading?

So I’ve been looking at eToro and seeing all this hype around it. There marketing is all flashy and stuff but I’m wondering how it holds up when the market’s really moving, ya know? Like when there’s a big news releas, how’s the execution? Does it lag a lot and do you notice a bunch of slippage when you’re trying to get in or out of trades fast?

I’ve seen some good things about their platform, but does it actually work for serious traders who need stuff to happen quickly or is it more for the casual crowd? Curious if anyone’s had experience with it here.

      Lemme me know.

eToro is not designed for active day trading. It’s more for investing over months and years.

However, it can be a viable platform for swing trading over a few days due to its commission-free trading of real stocks and support for fractional shares.

From my experience, it offers a super user-friendly interface and access to a vast library of assets.

However, its trade execution speeds and spreads are nowhere as competitive as those on platforms specifically designed for active trading.

Sometimes, I’ve had to wait up to 2-5 minutes for a trade to execute (open or close), specifically when the US session opens.

Additionally, I’ve noticed lag during high market volatility, which could affect quick trades.

I suggest you look for an ECN broker.

A good place to start researching is here: https://www.daytrading.com/ecn-brokers.

FYI, I have used IC Markets for years with no problems whatsoever. Its spreads and execution speeds are excellent.
