How do you connect IC Markets to MT4? I have opened a trading account but can’t get the platform to load properly. I keep getting server error and haven’t heard back from IC (despite multiple emails).

Are they any IC users who can help me?

Thank you for your message.

Have you tried these steps to connect your IC Markets account in MT4:

1. Run the MT4 installer (open the download file from the IC Markets website)
2. Follow the installation wizard (accept the license agreement and choose a suitable installation directory)
3. When the installation is complete launch MT4
4. Login to your account (go to ‘File’ > ‘Login to trade account’)
5. Input your account number, password, and select the correct server (these details are usually provided in the welcome email from IC Markets or you can view them under ‘Accounts’ in the client area)
6. Once the details are entered, select ‘Login’

If that doesn’t work and you still haven’t heard back from IC Markets by email, you could try their live chat (icon in the bottom right corner of their website). They should be able to advise on any specific issues with your account.

Sammy, are you running the latest version of MT4? I’ve had it before where I couldn’t connect even with the correct login info because my MT4 needed updating. If you close MT4 and then rick click and run as administrator it should automatically update to the latest. Could be worth a shot.

I’ve managed to sort it guys afetr a long conversation on live chat I needed to manually enter a different server from the one they sent me and showed in my account area. Annoying but all sorted now! Thanks!

This initial setup process is a frequently frustrating feature of using MT4/5 compared to using a broker’s proprietary Web or mobile app (where available).
