Does anyone know how long it should take to open an interactive investor (ii) account?

I spent half an hour registering for a trading account a couple of days ago now and shared my national insurance number, debit card info and a copy of my ID but I still can’t log in and start trading. Is this normal?

I thought it would all be automated these days. When I opened a Monzo account I was literally good to use it within five minutes.

IBKR’s account approval process can be lengthy.

While you should typically receive confirmation within two business days, it’s not uncommon for it to take longer.

You can check your application status through the “Complete Application” link you should have received by email.

Hi FortuneFavoursTheBold,

The account opening time at Interactive Investor normally ranges from a few hours to several days (similar to most brokers).

Did you submit clear copies of the requested documents? Delays can be due to problems with the documents and depending on how busy the account activation team are.

Is your account open now? If not, you may want to give them a call on 0345 607 6001.

Thanks guys I am up and running now.

It just took a while to verify my documents and ii had actually emailed but I missed in my inbox.
