Does anyone actually use demo accounts?

Yh yh I know they’re supposed to be the ‘best’ place for new traders but I swear they don’t work. Why?

YOUR MONEY ISN’T ON THE LINE!

I genuinely forget about them, let alone being emotionally tied to whether they be succesfful or not.

And even when I have focused I get so greedy that I hold on wayyyyy beyond I would I might if I was using my own money.

Tell me I’m not the only one who sees this?! Biggest problem with demo accounts yet nobody is talking about it. It’s just like yeah open a demo, then you’ll be ready for a live account. Come on.

It doesn’t sound like you have the discipline for day trading. No offense but if you ‘forget’ about your trades then this ain’t the game for you pal and simulators ain’t to blame.

I use them and will continue to. They’re where I start whenever I’m changing broker or platform so I can make sure I’m comfortable with their tools before I put money on the line.

I also use them when I’m considering new instruments and figuring out how market dynamics work etc etc.

I agree they don’t replicate the real stress and emotion but I’m not sure it’s fair to say they don’t have a use.

Absolutely. You should also make sure you understand the costs and spreads of the instruments you trade before you use real money.

Demo accounts have and will likely continue to play an important role for many aspiring traders.

They offer a risk-free environment for testing and developing strategies. We’ve also found they can be an excellent way to test brokers’ trading tools and get to grips with different pricing structures.

Yes I do. I can’t count how many hours I’ve spent on demo platforms over the years and how much they’ve probably saved me by providing a safe space to test setups.
