      Hey peeps,

Anyone know what day traders usually pull in? What’s the scoop if you’re doing it full-time? I get it’s gonna be a rollercoaster, but is there any info on the average haul over the long run?

        Mr Falcone

According to Glassdoor, in the United Kingdom it ranges from £34000 to £82000 a year with an average of £53000.

I have to say though I’m quite surprised by this even if it says it’s based on 3174 salaries submitted.

It surely can’t take into account all the day traders who lose money (of which there are many).

              Hi Mr Falcone,

I’m not sure these figures are fully reflective.

I wonder if this includes the salaries of day traders employed by trading firms. And as you alluded to, perhaps it doesn’t factor in the salaries of the vast majority of traders who don’t make anything.

I would expect the average to be much lower when you take into account the losses many retail traders make.

I don’t understand how an average base salary can be determined when every trader has a different account balance.

Also, determining ‘salaries submitted anonymously by traders’ is not exactly definitive.

                Hey,

I understand that “salary” could be misleading, I meant more what are the typical returns a day trader might see over the course of a year.

Really I’d like to know the figures including the day traders that make zero…

‘Salary’ will be determined by your account balance, risk tolerance, and how long you want to be in the game.

I regularly see high-risk forex traders make 500-1,000%+ in less than a year, then blow their accounts the following year.

I also see low-risk stock traders that consistently make about 20-40% per year, year after year.

Are you looking to grow wealth over the long term or to have a regular second income? Your trading strategy will depend on this outlook.
