Honestly the fact that there’s no real regulation means a lot of people can get away with selling big dreams. I mean anyone can rent a Lambo, talk a big game about charts, and throw up a “limited-time offer” to make it sound legit. Doesn’t mean they’ve actually made any real money trading. If the course creator isn’t showing actual results or live trading, just take it with a big grain of salt!

What day trading course are you looking at pal?

As far as I know they are but boy does their need to be some more oversight of them.

There’s no real licensing or oversight required to sell trading education, which is wild when you think about it. Imagine if driving instructors didn’t need a license? That’s kind of what the trading course world is like. That doesn’t mean they’re all scams – some are genuinely useful – but yeah, anyone can build a course, run some ads (I get so many of them), and start collecting payments.

I’ve looked into this and from what I can gather from many hours of online research, most trading courses exist in a gray area – technically legal, but ethically sketchy. Some might be genuinely educational, but a lot are just monetizing hype.

That’s right – 21 year old Brad who’s been scaling his trading account for the grand total of 3 months can make a course, advertise it all over YouTube, and sell it for $1000 a pop.

However, these day trading course providers should be following some rules otherwise they may find regulators knocking on their doors:

                • Misleading claims –  if someone says things like: “You’ll be rich in 30 days!”
                • Giving investment advice without a license – course creators shouldn’t be telling you what specific stocks to buy or sell.

Also be on the look out for:

                • High prices with no refunds
                • “Gurus” flaunting rented cars and luxury lifestyles
                • No proof of consistent success or risk disclosures
                • “Secret” strategies no one else knows
                • Upselling, e.g., you buy the course, then they try to sell you into coaching for more cash

Is there a specific day trading course you’re looking at? I’m happy to put it under my cynical microscope 😊

Nice one for clearin that up everyone. So day trading courses are legal, but they arent all actually created to educate us new day traders!

The ones I’ve been looking at are:

                  https://www.udemy.com/course/day-trading-swing-trading-strategies-stocks/?couponCode=ST13MT80425G3

                  https://www.warriortrading.com/courses/day-trading-strategies-scaling/

This second one you can’t buy on its own tho, you have to pay for an (expensive) membership which is why I’m like ahh, do I do it? Anyone taken any of the courses from Warrior Trading?

The first course is priced around $50, so it’s pretty affordable. Udemy is pretty well-known in the online course world, so you’re not diving into unknown territory. But let’s be real – don’t expect to walk away as a pro after just 3.5 hours of content and a few downloadable resources. One reviewer even said, “The course theoretically is amazing, but this is my third course and I still have no idea how to trade in the real market.” Sounds like you might finish it with more questions than answers.

The second one is from Ross Cameron, who’s a pretty big name in the trading space, especially on YouTube. But I’d be cautious. He’s definitely likable and comes across as knowledgeable, but there’s a history there. He’s gotten into some legal trouble and even faced prosecution for misleading consumers with false advertising. And honestly, if he’s such a successful trader, why is he spending so much time pushing pricey courses all over social media? Just something to think about.

Oh, I did not know Warrior Trading had had a run in with the law!

But if you take that stance, then why would you invest in any day trading course – none of them could be believed?
